Open -air historical and ethnographic museum in Myshkin is very similar to such museums in Europe – this is a whole small town, returning its visitors to the distant past. The museum was created by local historians of ethnographers, a significant part of the work of which is devoted to the study of the history of the region and, in particular, the life of mountain Mari – indigenous people. First of all, this is a museum of wooden peasant architecture – a wide variety of old buildings are brought here.
