Great Britain almost entirely occupies the islands of the British archipelago, which are located in the seas of the Atlantic Ocean. The exception is the central and southwestern parts of the island of Ireland, occupied by the Republic of Ireland. I must say that the island of Maine is also included in the UK, which is not attributed to the British Islands, although it is located almost in the very center of the archipelago. This is the crown territory of Great Britain, which does not legally belong to the country, but is actually connected with it civilian. Also, crown areas are the islands of Jersey and Hernsy of the Norman Archipelago. The UK itself consists of states located on the island of the same name. These are the states of England, Scotland and Wales with its own authorities controlled by the supreme bodies of England. In addition, it is known that North Ireland, who was once part of Ireland, is part of the UK. But after Ireland separated from the kingdom, the northern part of it the next day filed a petition for a return to the UK. For considerations of tolerance, since then, the country is called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland.
